This webinar will address various substantive and procedural motions filed with the immigration courts and Board of Immigration Appeals in removal proceedings.
- The panel will provide an overview of: motions to reopen and reconsider; motions to remand; motions to stay removal; and motions to rescind in absentia removal orders. Additionally, we will discuss the differences between statutory and regulatory motions to reopen/reconsider; untimely motions (including how to frame an argument that the statutory deadline should be equitably tolled); post-departure motions (including considerations for individuals abroad); and motions to reopen/reconsider orders that have been reinstated.
Finally, the panel will address procedural motions such as motions to extend time, to expedite adjudication, and supplementing previously filed motions.
